Support Groups

When the GDATF was founded in 1990, Dr. Nancy Hord Patterson answered correspondence out of her living room - and in-person support groups (organized via snail mail) were the bedrock of the organization. These days, the Internet offers patients and family members a quick opportunity to connect. However, there's also real power in the opportunity to meet face-to-face with patients and family members who understand what you are going through - and we hope to start bringing patients together in person again in the future. In the meantime, contact us about Zoom support group options or check out our online communities in the menu to the left - all provided in a secure environment, hosted by trained moderators.

Many thanks to our volunteer support group leaders - and to the doctors and  clinics who have hosted support group meetings in recent years (see below for a partial list). We'll keep you posted on future events!
